What is Carronite?

Carronite is an advanced reinforcement applied to Carron acylic baths. A Carronite bath can withstand far greater stresses than a conventional acrylic bath - an upturned Carronite bath could support a lorry!

Carronite baths have the strength and rigidity normally associated with cast iron baths but with the design benefits and ease of maintenance of acrylic baths.

Carronite baths are completely reinforced underneath and encapsulates an 18mm baseboard for total rigidity.

A specially designed frame and cradle system supports the added weight of the Carronite reinforcement.

Carron bath panels also come in Carronite. This makes the panel amazingly strong - it won't wobble or bend! Carronite bath panels are also much easier to cut down (in cases where your bath is bedded into tiles - the panel will usually need cutting down by 5 - 10mm).

About Carron baths...

We firmly believe Carron baths are the best you can buy. We've fitted Carron baths for over 10 years and we've dedicated our Grimsby showroom to Carron baths as we only offer the best in quality.

Carron's history dates back to 1759 when the company was formed. They were originally an ironworks factory and made cannons for the British army. The Duke of Wellington would not have any other cannon other than those made by Carron. Carron also made red telephone boxes and post boxes for the Post Office, next time you see a post box, look at the bottom to see if it says "Carron Company Stirlingshire". Carron moved into the production of baths during the 20th century and they made their first acrylic bath in 1965. Since then Carron have gone from strength to strength and are now the leaders in innovation and bath manufacturing.

How are baths packaged?

Carron baths have cardboard packaging to protect the rim. The acrylic parts of the bath are protected by a plastic film which must be removed prior to installation.

Do Carron baths include legs?

Yes all Carron baths come with a leg kit included in the price. 5mm bath legs are usually strapped to the underneath of the bath. Since February 2013, Carron are now packaging 5mm leg sets in boxes too. Carronite leg sets are packaged separately in a cardboard box as shown below.
